The "Battle at Bristol" between Tennessee and Virginia Tech on Saturday night set a new NCAA football attendance record.
An official crowd of 156,990 saw the Volunteers and Hokies play at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. The attendance figure dwarfed the old record of 115,109 for Notre Dame at Michigan in 2013.
Tennessee won the game 45-24, rallying from an early 14-0 deficit to improve to 2-0 this season.
